What happened to the days when people were kind? Remember when you trusted people? You shook hands, smiled at one another, said hello to strangers, held doors open, let a senior cut in line, give a compliment. What the hell happened to those days?
Is being selfish in style now? Or is it being taught or mimicked? Please and thank you were a MUST!! When I was growing up, proper manners were a absolute!
Being kind to animals was something you were taught at a young age. Not even taught, we saw it in our parents. It was a understanding. If we were sbapped at or scratched our mother immediately said “AND…. WHAT DID YOU DO?” We normally had it coming! We likely annoyed the shit out of that animal and he or she had enough! Our parents didn’t immediately march that cat or dog down to the local shelter and say “THIS ANIMAL SCRATCHED OUR SWEET CHILD “TIMMY”, SO “FLUFFY” MUST GO!” In our house “Fluffy” stayed and we were taught NOT to annoy the cat and do NOT climb on the dog! Pets need space just like people do.
Good manners and kindness go a long way. Would you rather spend time with a child that is running all over screaming and yelling, jumping up and down, climbing all over furniture, knocking things down, talking back to everyone or would you rather be around a happy go lucky kid, smiling, just being a regular kid! I’d pick the latter. Guess what?? I bet the animals would pick that child too!! I understand children have their moments. Children mirror their parents in many ways. Kindness is lacking in this world. I don’t want ‘SELFISHNESS TO BE IN STYLE.’
Be kind to animals. Smile at strangers. Pay a compliment to someone. Happiness is contagious.
